
ESF project "Improving the practical implementation and supervision of occupational safety legislation" No. 7.3.1.0/16/I/001

The aim of the project is to improve occupational safety, especially in companies in hazardous sectors.
The task of the project is to carry out activities aimed at improving the safety and health protection of employees and putting the work environment in order in accordance with occupational safety and labour law requirements. In the long term, the implementation of the project will promote the creation of quality jobs, which in turn will improve employees' quality of life and the economic situation of the company.
In order to improve occupational safety, the project will carry out activities in seven directions according to the needs of the target group. The main direction of the project will be the provision of advisory support to companies: within the project, companies will receive consultations on improving the work environment in companies, support in assessing work environment risks, the opportunity to use laboratory measurements, to participate in training, etc. Within the other directions, research will be carried out and pilot projects implemented, as a result of which proposals will be developed for the necessary improvements in the regulatory framework, the professional capabilities of the State Labour Inspectorate (hereinafter - VDI) will be improved, preventive and informative educational events will be organised, and information and publicity measures on the implementation of the project and project management will be provided.
Within this project, the Training Centre "Darba Drošības centrs" provides the project participants with the opportunity to complete the professional development education programme "Acquiring specialised knowledge in the field of occupational safety: construction, mining and quarrying", 40 hours.
